While he might not be liked all over the world (especially where biting is considered rude), there is no denying that Luis Suarez is on fire. And with this latest accolade in the bag, it seems as though the Liverpool star will not be backing down.
On Sunday, Suarez was awarded the PFA Player’s Player of the Year Award. This certainly is a big honour for Suarez; considering the fact that this time last year he was handed a hefty 10 match ban for biting Chelsea player, Branislav Ivanovic.
However, Suarez returned to the Liverpool team after his 10 games out and subsequently showed them (and the world) what they had been missing.
Suarez is undoubtedly Liverpool’s biggest asset at the moment. However, rumours are running rife that the star striker will make a move to a new club during the summer transfer window.
With his impressive performance this season, one can imagine that there area string of clubs interested in signing the Uruguayan – bites and all.
It’s also very likely that Suarez will end the Premier League season as the top goal scorer.
Suarez seemed very humble about his award and thanked his fellow Premier League players for recognizing his efforts:
“The Premier League is full of really great players and so it is a great honour when these players recognise your work on the pitch…[sic] I always try my best for the team and it is nice to get awards but really this is for my team-mates and the staff at Liverpool because without their help I wouldn’t have this prize” he said.
With LIverpool tipped to win the League, Suarez will be able to add yet another victory to an already impressive season.
